I saw her standing from far awayher smokey eyes staring in oblivion
I let go my irascible aura for a moment
like Merlin in front of his Vivienne
Behind the visage of her smiling veneer
I lately had felt a weary sneer
The reality hit me with a hefty thwack
She was waiting there, for me to call back
The feeling of if it was love or hate
Or if I was simply tired of the wait
It wasn't the distance, it wasn't the pain
Since yore already I was cleft in twain
Din hurt so much when we're far apart
It was only me, alone, right from the start
Dragging the past like a heavy chain
Din had any more emotions left to drain
Our eyes met and she hurried past the crowd
My heart started thumping again out loud
She leaned forward and hugged me tight
And again out of no where it just felt right
We spent the day reminiscing the past
And sometimes thinking about the future
Though she seemed trying too hard
But the wounds were far deep to suture
We raised toasts and shared a joint
Why was i doing this?
Guess hoping to meet her somewhere mid-point
The moments flew by
it was time for her to go
If I could have,
iI would have striven for the clock to tick slow
She turned towards me at the airport entrance,
And hugged me tight there again
Her eyes were moist and she sobbed hard
The impassive veneer, she could no more feign
I let her go and she walked away
Stopping to look back every now and then
Her contour dissolved into the crowd
But my eyes were transfixed, din realize since when
The Ink will fade away,
The words will no more rhyme
Standing there i was thinking if this was it.....
If it was the last time
